Not long ago, I purchased a bunch of these little metal purse frames with the idea that I might sew some "French-inspired" change purses to sell in my ETSY shop. Alas, all these months later, I have yet to tackle that project for more reasons than not. Recently, I was inspired to make some "faux" purses by using them with old cabinet cards.....
~*~I soaked these frames in "Black Patina" to oxidize them a bit~*~
.....sweet photographs of babies and children are the focal point of these darling faux purses....
...while others are trimmed in vintage lace.....
The back of the cabinet cards were left "as is" depending on whether or not the ornate Photographer's graphics were on them....
....to others, I added snippets of poems from vintage book pages...
~*~sold~*~
They may not be able to hold your change, but they do hold sweet memories of days gone by.
These will be on sale at my booth at The Vintage Bazaar at Pettengill Farm, in Salisbury, MA.....Sept. 21-22nd.
Happy Day Mes Amies!
This is a fabulous idea!! I love these purse frames combined with the antique cabinet cards.....a perfect marriage!
