Sharing a little "facelift" in the bathroom....(please bear with me for the awful "before" pictures!)
Didn't take a "before" of the bathroom from THIS view but here's what it looks like now....
Here's our vanity "before" ( and to think...I actually fell in LOVE with it when I first saw it in the store! Yikes!)....
...and after a coat of my favorite Ben Moore "Bone White".
Mirror "before".....
...and "after" (sorry for the flash....this Salle de Bain is TINY and has one window that only gets very early morning sunlight.)
When you have a bathroom that is this small....... every opportunity for additional "storage" is utilized.
... this metal shelf basket is the perfect spot for extra towels.
"Keeping it real" here....ugh!
...ahh, much better! I added the unsightly toiletries "after" the picture was taken.
(I'll miss that boy when he heads back to school!)
Old shower curtain....
...new shower curtain....
...love the detail.
I didn't take a "before" picture of the window treatment. It was nothing fancy...just a simple ugly valance.
Here I've simply draped a vintage linen napkin over a dowel rod.
It came up "short" so I added a piece of old crochet trim to each end (found it summers ago at a flea). This one has a beautiful crown & cross image (can you see it?) Adore it!
I've always loved this petite "enclave" behind the toilette (the house was built in 1904 so this was once where the "upflush" was.)
Everything here was found around the house or in my "stash" of tresors...
...the only thing I purchased "new" (besides the paint, shower curtain and towels) was this canvas-lined metal basket at Home Goods. I painted it white and gave the lining a light tea-stain....
I added one of my "labels" to the jar of "savon" and moved one of my Mary head vases from the studio...
The frame was in my pile of "Canvas White" spray painted goodies and the mirror was in a different spot in my maison.
These 2 mirrors were once in the kitchen...I like them layered together here.
I've always had this petite shelf in the salle de bain...I just added some labels to the jars and freshly painted some of the accessories.
No changes to this wall vignette except for the addition of the ex-voto...
I found it at Pottery Barn at the end of last xmas season. It had brownish-colored stones at the top that I replaced with some vintage pearl ones.
Little details....
Happy White Wednesday mes amies!
As always, I'm joining the lovely
Kathleen over at Faded Charm Cottage for more inspiration in "white."
How fresh and white and absolutely lovely your bain is! You're quite clever to simply repaint and re-use items on hand. I LOVE that mirror over the ex-voto, and how you transformed the ex-voto from PB. Every detail is beautiful and tres French. I can relate with the size - our bathroom is TINY. You've sparked my imagination here!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW mon amie...
What a lovely transformation...I too did this to a rather masculine sink base. My husband picked it up on a job site and hew knew I would see the potential...we no longer own that house :( I like the way you re-purposed that lace in the window...really everything looks great!! Enjoy your day.

This little space is so full of charm! Nice to hang out in! I get a lot of creative thoughts while doing my toilette in the morning. A space like this would do even more, I think. The lines of your vanity are so beautiful. The white really enhances it.
