Another Wonderful White Wednesday with The Faded Charm. This time.... i am sharing some pictures from one of my "junking" trips and some stuff from the shop....
...i found these lovely treasures at some thrift shops on my way home from Cape Cod this past week-end. I just love the shape of the gravy server and i never can pass up ANYTHING with angels! The religious card and the cross were such finds as well! (sorry for the fake "blooms" but we're not quite "blooming" here in the Northeast yet!)
...this is a pouch/tote i've been working on for my ETSY shop. it's made out of a cutter piece from an old bedspread and embellished with one of my favorite bird images, vintage lace and button....
...more of my French Flea Market coverless book bundles....this one isn't listed in the shop yet but will be soon!
..here are two bundles that just sold in the shop. i always hate parting with some of my creations. I keep them on my mantle until they're sold and then the "space" just look so empty (until I make something new to take its' place!)
Happy White Wednesday to you all dear friends! Don't forget to click on my sidebar button and go on over to Kathleen's Faded Charm Cottage and see all the other "white wonderfuls!"

ReplyDeleteGirl, your pictures make me "drool", they are fabulous. I agree, yesterday I sold one of my Etsy cabinet card creations and was so sad to see it wrapped to go. I totally understand. We just have to get busy and make more, right?
ReplyDeleteLovely and I mean Lovely post. :)
Michelle,
ReplyDeleteLove this post. So many yummy things to look at. First of all I am nutso about that pouch you made. I'm all about pouches & pockets. I need to send you a picture of something I just made. You'd like it. Love how you altered the bindings to the books too. Have a good day my friend. Lisa
Your books turned out so good. I went through some of my old falling aprt books and took the covers off, or what remained of them. I wanted dome to use in a cupboard I recently redid. It's a great way to reuse those great old books.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your day.
Kathleen
What a gorgeous post, love the altered books and everything is so yummy!

ReplyDeleteYour blog and creations are gorgeous and so beautiful! I adore your photos of the windows in the previous post, and was tickled to see your mother's name. My mother's name is Lucia, and I have never seen anyone else have it!
ReplyDeleteLove the old books and have seen them done up on other blogs...I was given some old books 6 years ago and I've been collecting others to do this for but have gone back and forth on actually removing the covers and embellishing.......
ReplyDeleteYou are incredibly talented!!
ReplyDeleteI love your creations so much and totally understand how difficult they would be to part with! I'm going to stalk your shop so I can get those books. Love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you had a lovely weekend :)
Such pretty things you found...and I still love how you embelish the book bindings..such tattered romance! THANK You so very much for your sweet words of encouragement and prayers for me and my family!

I would have never thought about stamping and collaging coverless book, and I have many. I have covered them with cloth but the stamping looks so cool. Great job--and people buy them?--even better.
ReplyDeleteSally
Thanks so much for advice on the old books. When I see them tattered I guess I think they were well loved and wondered where they may have traveled...Redoing if only for display is better then tossed in a box.
ReplyDeleteLove the books.
