Heavenly Hinges

Remember these? Found them at a thrift shop in Boothbay Harbor, Maine this past summer. 

Fell in LOVE with them and then made these.....

Well....I sooo wanted to find more of these heavenly hinges so I did an eBay search and, lo and behold, there was a listing for these....

...it only had 4 of the Fleur de lys nickel ones I was searching for but it also included the same hinge in brass and a lot of other petite and delicate hinges as well...

.....so I bid on it and WON!!

(cause for doing the "happy dance in my underpants" afterwards!)

So....then I thought I'd email the seller to ask if she had more of the nickel ones and, be still my heart, she said: "Oh yes. About 2 dozen." 

Oh my.....I nearly swooned! She listed them and I SNAGGED them all!! 

And, in case you've been wondering what I've been "up to" lately......

Dancing Unites Us All...

Just about the most beautiful and inspirational video I've seen in a long, long time....

Explanation: What are these humans doing? Dancing. Many humans on Earth exhibit periods of happiness, and one method of displaying happiness is dancing. Happiness and dancing transcend political boundaries and occur in practically every human society. Matt Harding traveled through many nations on Earth, planned on dancing, and filmed the result. This video, the latest in a series of similar videos, is perhaps a dramatic example that humans from all over planet Earth feel a common bond as part of a single species. Happiness is frequently contagious -- few people are able to watch this video without smiling.

In my never-ending quest to "prettify" my supplies, I took these.....

 ...and turned them into these.....

 So, now,  instead of looking at this while I create away.....

 ...I look at this.....

  ...ahhhh "oui"....

 ...much better!

You can find the original, full color, image of this label at The Graphics Fairy. I photo edited mine to "sepia." 

I print these onto 110lb cream card stock....2/page. You will need 2 of each color name to cover the front and backs of the seam binding roll.The label is a bit larger than the actual size of the seam binding so I used a CD as my template. The “clear” center of the CD allows you to “center” your template over the seam binding name and cut afterwards. I then glued the label onto the seam binding roll and trimmed the excess. The font I use is called “Snell Roundhand” in case you’d like to make some of your own. I am including a blank label for that purpose as well. Just click on the label(s) you want and then right click and hit "save."
